Black Belt Jobs

Black belts work under the supervision of master black belts to apply Six Sigma methodology to specific projects. Black belt candidates identify and remove the errors and defects in manufacturing and business processes. Black belts are known by different names as per their experience, like master black belt, black belt and green belt.

The primary responsibility of a black belt candidate is to increase the company productivity and profit by reducing costs, improving quality, eliminating defects, minimizing waste and reducing variation. Other duties include meeting project goals within budgets and on schedule, coaching green belts and training other team members in six sigma methods and managing process improvement programs in sales and marketing.

The minimum qualification required for a black belt job is a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college. Sigma six black belt certification is mandatory. Other requirements are excellent communication, computer, analytical and interpersonal skills.
