PURPOSE:
The Software Quality Assurance Engineer ensures the integrity of all Reed Group software products by rigorously testing Reed software, documenting test results, debugging programs, and approving releases of Reed products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Quality Assurance team member in support of one or more Reed products. May be given ownership of one or more Reed products
Develops, publishes, and implements test plans.
Executes automated test scripts.
Writes and maintains manual tests based on requirement specifications.
Responsible for writing black box test cases based on requirement specifications.
Executes tests per test plans.
Reviews specifications for enhancements, bug fixes and extending functionality of Reed products.
Work closely with Customer Service and User teams to ensure needs are being met.
Track work time according to projects in a timely manner.
Participate in product release authorization process and reviews.
Analyze client issues and product problems from released products as requested by the Customer Service team. Work to identify and resolve issues.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attend department and company meetings.
Stay current on technology trends and industry information.
Works under general supervision.
Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
4 years related experience
Knowledge of software quality methodologies and processes.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft web-based technologies and n-tier architectures.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, to include Windows 2000,XP,NT.
2 years experience using SQL Server 2000 or 2005
Experience working within version control and change management.
Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
Experience working in with Agile development process.
Experience working with Quick Test Pro automation tools
Experience working withQuality Center
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a wide audience.
