Production Chemistry team integrates subsurface, engineering, operations and well engineering to ensure safe production over the asset lifecycle.
What’s the role?
As the Production Chemistry Team Lead, you will be responsible for the quality assurance of product specifications, Laboratory Management, chemical control documentation, chemical surveillance, operations support, Project support, troubleshooting, short and medium team production system optimization, and improving facility performance in compliance with company control framework.
Your role has key interfaces with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSSE, Production Programming & Scheduling, Manage Supply Chain, Environmental, lifting coordinators, Development and the Project teams.
Duties of the Role:
Discipline leadership and responsibility for health and growth of the Production Chemistry discipline in the asset.
Governance of the Asset management process for product quality assurance. Internal and external auditing. Accountable for ISO170125 accreditation.
Contract Management of a mix of tactical and strategic contracts for Chemical Supply, Lab services and manpower, lab maintenance, consumable supply and specialty gases.
Product Stewardship focal point for Prelude. Custodian of chemical management safety documentation.
Technical Assurance of project documentation.
Monitor Chemical Management System operations, analyze operating conditions, identify anomalies and deviations, troubleshoot and recommend for corrective actions to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
Responsible for Production Chemistry contribution to the daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly performance reviews.
Contribute to Daily / Weekly / Monthly Production & KPI reporting through team (including support to Hydrocarbon Accounting).
Management, design and troubleshooting of chemical treatments, including selection, application, optimal deployment, the meeting of legislative requirements etc in line with contractual obligations.
Review of asset and project documentation such as well functional specs, well design, field modifications, management of change documentation, etc.
Monitor various chemical process parameters and intervene proactively.
Provide technical advice on corrosion inhibition management, produced fluids treatment, phase separation, well stimulation, chemical flow assurance (hydrate, scales, wax) etc. including prediction, removal, monitoring and troubleshooting.
Ensure legislative compliance through water overboard quality maintenance (e.g., oil discharge to sea) and permit recommendations for chemicals discharged from the facility
Identify and actively embed Continuous Improvement initiatives with respect to chemical usage, optimization etc.
Work closely with the Asset Production Technologist, Reservoir Engineer, Programmer and Discipline Engineers to ensure the overall surveillance and optimization requirements are prioritized and delivered.
Provide timely, quality support and advice to the offshore operations team to ensure safe and efficient production to the required quality specifications.
Coach and develop Production Chemistry team to sustain a local succession funnel.
What we need from you
To succeed in the role, you will have:
Degree in Chemistry or Equivalent with extensive experience in the function supporting operations.
Technical Authority experience desired for production chemistry.
Contract Management business acumen with knowledge of current and future production chemistry business management systems and contractual frameworks.
Knowledge of Utilities & Upstream Production Systems essential.
Subject Matter Expert in laboratory operations (sampling, analysis) within the context of surveillance and asset support highly desired.
Experience with the Operations Readiness activities and early operations support highly desired
Proven track record of identifying improvement opportunities in the business and driving implementation.
Strong interpersonal, motivation and influencing skills to develop synergy, trust & credibility among varied interfaces & networks.
Strong service provision mindset, results focused and passion for delivery.
Able to prioritize effectively and make decisions considering the appropriate balance between cost, quality, and time.
