SHOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS CHALLENGE...
We seek a highly motivated Senior Product Quality Engineer responsible for manufacturing quality excellence of Pure’s products. This individual will work closely with his/her engineering counterparts in Hardware, Test, Product, Quality, and Supply Chain Management to ensure product quality KPIs are achieved. This individual will be responsible for three key areas: (1) product quality metrics, monitoring, and reporting, (2) Supplier audits, continuous improvement and FA/RCA activities at suppliers, and (3) providing supports to suppliers, contract manufacturers, and customers. As the Product Quality Engineer, you will:
Be a technical liaison between Pure and our contract manufacturing partner to implement the most efficient processes for timely deliveries of high-quality products.
Manage the product quality from NPI to sustaining production, from subassembly manufacturing, to system integration, and field customers.
Lead cross-functional teams to review quality metrics and drive the improvements from Design, Mfg test, and suppliers
Coordinate failure analysis with suppliers, determine the root cause of issues, and drive corrective action implementation. Bring visibility to potential quality issues to management and follow through to resolution cross all supplier sites.
Establish manufacturing quality standards and process KPI metrics. Generate and publish reports (monthly/quarterly) on KPI metrics.
Perform audits at suppliers and enforce SCARs for nonconformances.
Manage supplier quarterly scorecard and QBR feedback
Work at local contract manufacture site 3 days per week at minimum, 4 or 5 days is preferred.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality & reliability and manufacturing testing methods to expose potential failure modes during product development.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...
Personal Skills and Experience Required
10 years of experience in a quality leadership role in Storage, Compute, Security or Networking industries. Multiple years of driving product quality issues at contract manufacture and across the Supply Chain.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time to support and audit suppliers

o Strong experience of the supplier management
o Strong knowledge of production monitoring methods and metrics.
o Strong knowledge of subassembly and system level Mfg and test processes.
o Strong knowledge of failure analysis approaches and techniques.
o Strong knowledge of quality improvement methods such as 8D, 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.
o Proven ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic and, at times, ambiguous environment.

Microsoft or Google Productivity Suites (Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, Word/Docs)
Tableau for data visualization and dashboards
Smartsheet or related project management software
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, industrial engineer, or other technical manufacturing related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
