Job Description:

What is the role?

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

Metocean analysis and delivery of full range of metocean design and operational criteria for floating and bottom-fixed offshore wind developments;

Management, processing and QC of metocean data for offshore wind developments;

Maintain productive relationship with wind resource and optimization team as needed;

Continually enhance personal skill set in the field of metocean;

Development of technical skills in appropriate areas outside traditional O&G metocean discipline;

Develop communication and networking skills needed for business development in the global wind development group;

Manage work priorities to deliver timely results to stakeholders;

What we need from you

Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in scoping/defining and managing metocean measurement campaigns, with experience in floating LiDAR deployments is a must.

Contractor management an advantage.

Clear understanding of the metocean requirements for concept selection, detailed design, installation and operational phases of offshore wind project development.

Experience working in the full range of Shell’s Opportunity Realisation Process, or an external equivalent project development framework.

Experience in defining and supporting safe offshore operations, and the impact of metocean risks in our project developments, and relevant aspects of the HSSE Control Framework which influence the discipline.

Drive to share and be involved in improvement of technology, processes and standards, with an open approach to learning and development.

Experience in development of metocean operational statistics and design criteria, and clear understanding of how the following deliverables are produced, when they are used and the theory behind the full range of approaches:

Weather windows, persistence

Independent, directional, associated, response-based extreme criteria

Spectral analysis

Fatigue analysis

Typical outputs for each phase of a wind project development….. NSS, SSS etc.

Skills in analysis of numerical data in Matlab, Python, or a similar platform.

Experience in quality control and assurance of measured wind, wave, oceanographic and atmospheric parameters.

Excellent in communication, both verbally and in writing.

Ability to work on detailed problems and address high-level questions.

An ability to link business drivers to deep technical understanding and vice versa.

A proven strong team player, able to work with virtual team, whilst also able to act autonomously.

Basic knowledge in relevant aspects of wind farm development, engineering, construction and operation of wind farm projects
