System Test Engineer

Job Description

Our System Test team is tasked with test planning, test scenario design, and test case development to assess and improve the overall quality of our products. The role encompasses influencing product design by leveraging the wide knowledge of the product portfolio and ensuring that a quality-first mindset is instituted within our development practices. Also, automation of complex tests that mimic customer environments and workloads to ensure performance and scalability baseline

Responsibilities:

Conducting requirements and design reviews of new features.

Designing high level test approaches and implementing detailed test plans.

Writing New Automated test cases for existing and new features.

Executing automated and manual tests during product testing phases to find all bugs in assigned feature area(s).

Working closely with the Development team to analyze and find the root cause of failures.

Filing defects and tracking them to closure.

Requirements:

Experience in test plan design and test case development for complex software projects

Experience in developing automated tests in one of the following programming languages: Python/Java/GoLang

Ability to debug and extend automated tests.

Experience testing a “systems” product (file systems, storage systems, databases, operating systems, hypervisors, or networking).

Strong systems administration experience in UNIX, preferably Linux.

Understanding of file system concepts and protocols such as: networked filesystems, logical volumes, journaled file systems, tiered storage, NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and LUNs.

Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or Xen. VMware and Hyper-V are preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

BS or MS in Computer Science or related field is required

3 years of Software QA experience

Able to work independently

Experience in testing clustered/distributed systems.

Ability to leverage open source tools for test development and execution
