Job Summary
The IDEA team is a dynamic and agile team responsible for creating solutions for Comcast Business customers. We are experienced, creative, and we work together as a team to make innovative services a reality. We are seeking a talented and motivated software tester to join us. Our projects cover a wide spectrum: creating real-time communications solutions for businesses, developing software integration to Comcast's advanced services, using software to rethink and redesign the customer experience, and creating intuitive interfaces for our services. We are looking for a QA Engineer with experience in automated and functional software testing. The successful candidate will have proficiency in several testing tools and experience in different testing environments. The candidate will also have experience with browser-based applications and how to test and troubleshoot both front and back-end components.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Writes and executes tests to validate products and software applications.
Contributes to the development of Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies. Identifies viable test strategies in order to support testing product functionality.
Collaborates with product and development teams to identify product and technical requirements.
Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
Ensures proper execution of regression test procedures and automated test suites and scripts. Participates in design, code and functional product reviews.
Works with other Quality Assurance Engineers or Software Engineers to identify, reproduce and document bugs or defects.
Assists in providing guidance and mentorship for junior-level Quality Assurance Engineers. Provides technical leadership and consultation with regards to practices, procedures and techniques.
Supports trials of new infrastructure designs/services.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Additional Core Skills:
Experience creating QA work products (Use Cases, Test Cases, Test Plans, etc.)
Strong, proactive problem-solving abilities
Solid understanding of SDLC principles and practices
Knowledge of the Agile Methodology
Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
Knowledge of an RDBMS system such as MySQL or Oracle
Experience with the query language SQL
Ability to work both independently as well as in teams
Ability and willingness to work with internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
Ability and desire to learn

Salary:
Pay Range: $82,380.86 - $123,571.29
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
