The quality manager is also called as quality monitoring manager or quality control manager. As the name suggests, this individual is responsible for ensuring that whatever goods or services are meted out to the consumer meets the quality standards set by the company and assured to the customer. You are the person who develops the quality management procedures and routines in the organization and sees that they are implemented through their team. You have to ensure that all the products that have been manufactured are subjected to the various quality tests and ultimately match the quality standards and do not have any flaws or errors. Food production and processing is an important industry that employs quality assurance managers.

Academic and Skill Sets
High school is the minimum requirement for the job of a quality assurance manager. This can be a specific and specialized field and if you have expert diplomas or certification in some type of management, it will be beneficial for you. Good communication skills are a must along with keen negotiation skills. The person who is appointed in this position should have customer oriented attitude so that they can serve the people better and assure that the goods are of the highest quality. As a quality manager, one should be aware of all the processes involved in production and should be aware of the company targets for the production team. You should be able to co-ordinate his work with that of the production manager and ensure that both production and quality standards are met in a profitable and efficient manner. It is imperative that a quality manager should also have leadership qualities and the ability to get work done through team coordination. You should know the various tools and concepts of quality management and thus implement them in his day to day work.

This is a high-level post involving a lot of co-ordination skills and thorough knowledge of the product, and thus the companies may require you to be an expert in your field.
